Seth Rogen spoke openly about The Green Hornet for the first time in a little while, while in Australia promoting Monsters Vs. Aliens. According to Moviehole Rogen told “The Jono & Dano Show” a few tidbits about the film, including the fact that filming will begin in June of 2009.

Rogen also said that while the film will be an origin story, it won’t be one in the traditional sense. Rogen promised it’d be unlike every other superhero film out there, and will focus on the relationship between the very different Britt Reid (Green Hornet) and Kato.

According to Rogen, the Hornet (who he will play) is pretty much a normal guy, while Kato (Stephen Chow) is the one who does all the traditional superhero stuff.

The Green Hornet follows the exploits of Britt Reid, a wealthy heir to his father’s newspaper franchise, The Daily Sentinel, who fights crime in the city at night, alongside his trusty martial-arts expert sidekick, Kato. Michael Gondry will direct the script co-written by Rogen and Evan Goldberg. The Green Hornet battles his way into theatres June 25, 2010.

Is Seth Rogen so sexy he’s posing for Playboy? Not Playgirl. Playboy.
Well, rumor has it that the Canadian star is doing the cover alongside Hope Dworaczyk ( Jason Kidd’s baby mama) for the March issue. Radaronline.com reports that despite the exciting news, Rogen’s reps won’t confirm.
The actor, who has shown some skin in past films like Knocked Up, has been getting in shape for upcoming role in The Green Hornet. Who knew all those work outs would land him in the same league as Burt Reynolds, Jerry Seinfeld, Steve Martin and Peter Sellers. The only men to grace the cover of Playboy to date.
Of course the 26-year-old star does have a movie coming out this spring as well. He stars in the comedy Observe and Report about a mall cop who gets a little too territorial when the police try to take over his investigation of a parking lot flasher.

Since Knocked Up consummated his celebrity in 2007, Seth Rogen has continued his ascent to the kind of built-in comedy stardom that accompanies names like Will Ferrell and Adam Sandler. Now he’s poised to take a stab at one of the most prolific comedy powerhouses of all: The Simpsons.

There had been on-and-off rumors, but Simpsons creator Matt Groening confirmed last week that Rogen will write and co-star in a forthcoming episode of the seminal Fox series. “He wrote an episode we’ll be reading soon, where Comic-Book Guy creates a superhero comic which then gets made into a feature film,” he told a news wire. “Homer plays the lead and to slim down; Seth Rogen will play his personal trainer.”

Warner Bros. also revealed yesterday that it will premiere Observe and Report, a new Rogen comedy about a mall security guard, at the South by Southwest festival in March. That film opens April 10.

“Green Hornet” Needs New Director

Director Stephen Chow steps down from “Green Hornet.”

According to Variety, Stephen Chow will no longer be directing the Green Hornet movie. Stephen Chow previously directed such Chinese movies as Shaolin Soccer, Kung Fu Hustle, and CJ7. Reportedly, Chow has stepped down from his position as director for Green Hornet due to “creative differences.” Last September, Chow signed on to both direct the movie as well as costar as Kato, the Green Hornet character’s driver and sidekick.

Currently, Chow still plans on playing Kato. The role of Kato was originated by Bruce Lee in the original The Green Hornet television series. Producer, Neil Moritz, and Columbia Pictures now have the task of finding a new director for the project so the movie can still go before the cameras in the spring of 2009.

The new The Green Hornet movie was written by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, with Rogen set to star as the titular hero. Ironically enough, Rogen recently starred in the Kevin Smith movie, Zach and Miri Make a Porno. Several years ago, Kevin Smith was the writer/director tapped to reinvent The Green Hornet as a new, live-action movie before ultimately opting not to go forward with the project.

The Green Hornet was created by Fran Striker as a 1930s serial radio program before being adapted into the 1960s television series.

Funnyman SETH ROGEN was so convinced he’d have to bare all in new movie ZACK AND MIRI MAKE A PORNO he shaved his hairy back.

The Knocked Up star was fully prepared to get naked with co-star Elizabeth Banks, but director Kevin Smith chose not to ask the pair to strip onscreen.

Rogen tells WENN, “I shaved my back just in case. I went fully bare, like a two year old. I was ready. I didn’t want to be too real for the world. I don’t think the world is too ready for a hairy back in a love scene.

“Has there ever been a sex scene with Robin Williams? People don’t want to see that. That would border on bestiality.”

SETH ROGEN will turn down the offer to star in GHOSTBUSTERS 3 if he is not impressed by the script.
The actor loved the original movies starring Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson, and has been linked to a role in the new sequel alongside Steve Carell and Paul Rudd.
But Rogen says he will only star in the picture if it is well written.
Rogen tells Collider.com, “It’s hard to imagine that would be good, isn’t it?
“I mean just as a movie fan I am the first guy to be skeptical of that. It sounds like a terrible idea when you first hear it. At first hearing it sounds like the worst idea ever. I mean, that would have to be one motherf**king good script.”
He adds, “There is a point where it’s so bad it’s really easy to say no.”
Earlier this month (Oct08), Murray said he was keen to reprise his role in a third movie - if the script is funny enough.

Elizabeth Banks and Seth Rogen teamed up on the red carpet in Hollywood to premiere their saucy new comedy Zach and Miri Make A Porno.

Speaking outside of the legendary Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, funny man Seth joked he’d been eager to get naked for his role in the film: “I was willing to, I was walking around naked a lot but no one filmed it.”

The movie centres on two life-long friends and roommates Zack (Seth Rogen) and Miri (Elizabeth Banks) who decide to make an adult movie to get some quick cash to pay off their debts.

After working with Elizabeth on The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Seth enjoyed the opportunity to team up again.

“It was great, I’ve known her for a long time and I was thrilled to get a chance to work with her this much,” he said.

Dressed in a sparkling red vintage dress, Elizabeth raved that she’d relished playing the funny female lead.

“I love Miri, she’s one of my favourite characters that I’ve ever played and I loved working with Seth,” she said.

And she said it wasn’t hard playing a character with money troubles.

“I was hard up my whole life until like this moment, until about ten minutes ago,” she said.

Superman actor Brandon Routh told reporters that playing actor Justin Long’s gay lover hadn’t been too challenging. “All my scenes were very tame playing with Justin but you know relationships are relationships no matter who they’re between. You fight, you bicker and it’s all the same,” he said.
